Children’s Ministry City Themed Environment

We just returned from Wetumpka, Alabama where we created "Kids Town". Kids Town is the name of the children's ministry of Mulder Church in Wetumpka. it is a "City" themed environment and it consists of a lobby and several themed hallways. In these areas we built a Check-In desk, a layered wall mural, life like clouds and many wall props including store front, city hall and central park style facades. The colors on this project are very bright and contemporary and the theme is very whimsical and fun! Below are a few pictures of this exciting facility.

Well, our new project is under way and we are working hard to make our deadline. A "wacky city" theme is what we are working on for a children's ministry themed environment in Wetumpka, Alabama. We have only until June 1st to get it ready for install and we still have a long way to go but we are all really excited to see how it all comes together. Chris Towe and myself used to work for a company named Dream Big Studios several years ago and the City theme was the most popular theme that we did, however, since we have started The WOW Factory we have just not had a great demand for the city theme. Here are a few images of what we have built so far.

So if you missed the two episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that we were a part of you can watch both of them on ABC.com or Hulu.com. The first episode aired May 1 and was centered around The Dickinson family and the second episode aired on May 15 and centered around The Sharrock Family. The Sharrock Family had a little boy with brittle bones disease but a great spirit! The WOW Factory went in and built an amazing Rube Goldberg machine in the wall of his bedroom. Fun House Themed Attraction Design

We have just finished a large building front for Lake Winnie theme park in Rossville, GA. We went back and forth on the artwork for this facility and finally came up with a design that our customer loved. The "Wacky Factory" is the name of this themed attraction and it is a large "Fun House" ride consisting of all sorts of gears, pneumatics and lighting effects. Although we did create some of the pieces on the inside of this ride, most of our work was on the outside. The WOW Factory designed and built the entire front of the building and we believe that it will be a great "attention getter" for the park this year.

Skateboard Themed Bedroom

If you watched the last episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition you may have noticed Izzy Dickinson's "Skateboard" themed bedroom. The WOW Factory had a big part in creating this area by creating and/or installing many of the props including a custom built Fire Hydrant/Ipod docking station. One of the more interesting things that we did was that we created a whole faux brick wall on site. It was a lot of work but we didn't do it alone! We recruited half an army of EMHE volunteers to help us. Thanks to all of the local "Beaufortians" for your help with this really cool looking wall!

Bank United Money Bag

The WOW Factory just created and delivered 100 large, over sized money bags to Bank United branches in Florida. This project came to us from Out of the Blue advertising company and will be a part of Bank United's "Do Something With It" promotional campaign. These bags were a little out of the ordinary for us since we do not usually work wit cloth products, however the end result turned out great and we do hope to be making more large bank bags just like these.

3 Plus You (The WOW Factory)

WRCB-TV 3, NBC affiliate in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the station that interviewed The WOW Factory just before our second Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. They are also the station that hosts the show "3 Plus You" which will airing an episode about The WOW Factory soon. The shows camera men recently came to our shop to talk to us about the company as well as the work we did with Extreme Makeover and the work we are currently doing with Lake Winnepesaukah on their "Wacky Factory" Fun House. A new project just came from out of the blue!!

The WOW Factory is currently working with Out of the Blue Advertising agency in Miami FL on creating 100 oversize bank bags for an advertising campaign with Bank United. This project is going to be a little different for us in that these large bank bags will be made of fabric rather than our normal foam and wood product, but we are excited to be working with such outstanding clients.

The WOW Factory is planning on a new themed attraction design. We are working with Lake Winnepesaukah on designing a new face for their fun house marquee. We can not disclose any information at this time, but we promise that this will prove to be an amazing piece to the collection of rides and attractions at Lake Winnie, just outside of Chattanooga TN.

Tyner United Methodist’s Dedication

Tyner UMC Dedication

Today my wife and I went to the dedication service for the new children's ministry center at Tyner United Methodist Church. This was a very exciting experience for me for a couple of reasons. First, because I never usually get to go to events like this one. Most of our projects are so far away that we do not have the ability to go to the opening service. The second reason is that I was able to have my wife and my son come and experience the finished product. One thing that really hit home with me as well was the dedication prayer which went like this,"We rejoice today in the fulfillment of this dream. We thank You, Lord for those who conceived it, designed it , implemented it and gave of their time and gifts to see

it to fruition. We also thank You for the members of The WOW Factory for their skills and talents in helping to bring about this exciting area for our children and future children". I'm not going to lie...I starting tearing up a little bit. Like any job, it's very easy to get caught up in logistics and schedules and long hours, but forget that there is a reason for what your doing. I love my job and I love that we are bringing a little joy into this world. My only wish is that I could see more of the smiles on children's faces that we bring. None-the-less, it was just nice to have been given some perspective this morning.
